Based on the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the number of domestic sea transport passengers in the period of ten months in 2017 reached 14.2 million people or an increase of 13.43% on an annual basis. Tanjung Perak Port becomes the best performing embarkation compared to the other four ports.
Based on official statistics published by BPS on Monday (4/12/2017), the number of domestic sea transport passengers per October 2017 on a monthly basis increased 1.36% to 1.5 million. The number of passengers recorded an increase in the Port of Balikpapan of 1.82%, while in four other ports recorded down.
