Finally, Ojek Online will be Categorized as Public Transportation: https://www.cnbcindonesia.com/news/20180920084804-4-33938/akhirnya-ojek-online-akan-dikategorikan-angkutan-umum/20 September 2018

Ojek Online in the near future will be recognized as public transportation. Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Budi Setiyadi said that currently stakeholders are discussing the establishment of ojek online regulations. After these regulations, ojek online will be categorized as public transportation. This is in accordance with Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning LLAJ.

The Online Transportation Action Committee (KATO) once submitted a request for a judicial review to the Constitutional Court (MK) against Article 138 in Law No. 22/2009 so that ojek online can be categorized as public transportation. According to KATO, article 138 does not accommodate legal guarantees, both as ojek online drivers and users. In fact, the article can turn into a weapon so that there will be resistance to ojek online. However, the Constitutional Court decided to reject it and stated that the constitutional loss in the petition could not be found, especially the majority of the applicants were drivers and some were ojek online passengers.
Anies Targets Every Day There are 4 Million Passengers Using Public Transportation: https://megapolitan.kompas.com/read/2022/09/01/07153321/anies-targetkan-setiap-harinya-ada-4-juta-penumpang-naik-kendaraan-umum?page=all/1 September 2022

The Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan is targeting 4 million passengers per day to take public transportation. According to him, the number of public transport passengers must continue to be increased to reduce emissions in the capital. Like for example public transportation, it used to have 350,000 passengers every day in 2016, in 2020 it managed to reach 1 million but the real target was 4 million.

Therefore, Anies hopes that the increasing trend of public transportation users can continue to be improved even though he is no longer serving as Governor of DKI Jakarta.
