Awareness of the Need for Pension Funds to be Improved: http://www.industry.co.id/read/42571/kesadaran-perlunya-dana-pensiun-perlu-ditingkatkan/22 September 2018

Manulife Indonesia said that the awareness of the Indonesian people in pension fund planning is still low because of the total number of workers in Indonesia, only around 4 percent of formal workers are members of the Financial Institution Pension Fund (DPLK) Program.

Director & Chief Employee Benefits of Manulife Indonesia, Karjadi Pranoto said that based on data of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) 2017, the number of DPLK participants in 2017 was 3,055,617 workers, while the number of formal sector workers recorded by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2017 was 73.98 million people. From these data there are only around 4 percent of formal workers who are members of the DPLK membership. The percentage is still low is an opportunity and potential for Manulife Indonesia Pension Fund to continue to work on those markets and regularly disseminate the role of pension funds to build awareness among employers. The DPLK program from Manulife Indonesia seeks to encourage awareness of pension fund planning through socialization in the form of education about the importance of pension fund planning for companies or employers.
