Through business development of campus intellectual products program (PPUPIK), Faculty of Engineering, University of Muhammadiyah Metro opened a center business unit manufacture and rental of scaffolding. Scaffold or steger is a construction helper on building work.

Head of PPUPIK FT UM Metro, Masherni said that the campus intellectual product development program is a program of Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education conducted by Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM). With the goal of creating technological innovations to foster economic development of Indonesia by commercializing the results of research. From this program, it is expected to increase campus income and facilitate the general public in obtaining scaffolding.

In improving reading skills and comprehension writing as an output of reading comprehension, the Faculty of Industrial Engineering of the Indonesian Islamic University (UII) Yogyakarta applied learning with Scaffolding techniques for first semester students, which is a technique where students are given greater responsibility in the learning process, so they will have a better understanding. This learning encourages students to learn more independently. This was conveyed by the Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Industrial Engineering, UII Yogyakarta, Anggara Jatu Kusumawati, S.S, M.A.

Scaffolding learning in English learning is divided into two strategies, namely reading strategies with Literal, Inferential, Evaluative (LIE), and writing strategies with the process of making sentences, prewriting, drafting, revising, editing and submitting. While the application of scaffolding in both learning strategies is the responsibility of gradual release with four stages of modeling, sharing, guiding, and implementing.
