Import surges polyester products have pressured local polyster industry. In response, the Indonesian Synthetic Fiber Producers Association (APSyFI) demanded the application of anti-dumping duties (BMAD) for the polyester fiber. Chairman APSyFI, Ravi Shankar explains, due to the rise of dumped imports of polyester products from China, India and Taiwan, the national industrial polyester fibers decreases.
Investigation of Indonesian Anti Dumping Committee (KADI) during the year has resulted in the final investigation report to prove that there has been dumping practices by the company from India, China and Taiwan are causing injury to domestic industry. For that, the committee is to recalculate and establish the amount of the increase in dumping margin significantly to some exporters from China.

PT Polychem Indonesia Tbk. budgeted a capital expenditure of US $ 15 million to expand the plant. Director of Polychem Tarunkumar N Pal said, the company will spend funds on several expansion projects such as adding existing factory installed capacity. Other than that, there is a fiber line transfer project from the current location in Tangerang, Banten to Karawang, West Java.
The addition of capacity, will rise 3,000 tons per month from now, so the plant will increase to 36,000 tons per year. Capital expenditure is also used to improve the efficiency of the factory, among others, the installation of absorption chillers and will finance catalyst replacement to reduce consumption of ethylene feedstock.
