Planting Hundreds of Banyan Trees to Restore the Function of the Mount Pucung Protected Forest/https://www.profauna.net/id/content/tanam-ratusan-pohon-beringin-untuk-pulihkan-fungsi-hutan-lindung-gunung-pucung#.Y6zvYRVBy5c/10 December 2022


Various components of society were moved to restore the function of the protected forest on Mount Pucung, Batu City by planting hundreds of banyan trees (Ficus sp) on Wednesday (12/10/2022) to strengthen the function of the protected forest such as preventing landslides and floods. Especially the trauma of the flash floods that hit Batu City in November 2021.

The reforestation of this protected forest is a joint movement involving Kostrad Division 2 Singosari, Wono Mulyo Social Forestry Group (KPS) in Bulukerto Village, Perhutani KPH Malang, PROFAUNA Indonesia, the National Ficus Center, LMDH Sumbergondo Village, and others. The Ficus sp tree seedlings were donated by the Kediri National Ficus Center and PROFAUNA Indonesia

At the end of 2023, SMM will collaborate with Greenpeace Indonesia by presenting an art exhibition entitled "Kedai Kita". According to the Greenpeace Indonesia report, the climate crisis has had a serious impact on crop yields in several regions in Indonesia, this creates a high risk of crop and planting failures experienced by farmers and fish farmers.

This activity aims at the annual global climate conference COP 28 in Dubai, where leaders from all over the world gather to discuss efforts to save the world from the climate crisis.
