Chairman of the Indonesian Cassava Society (MSI) Suharyo Husein said, the projected cassava imports in the form of tapioca throughout 2018 reached 500,000 tons. Because, Indonesian cassava production is unable to meet industrial needs. Import dependence can be reduced if the government incorporates cassava into a national strategic commodity.
