The government imposed the imposition of Safeguard Measures Import Duty (BMTP) on imports of steel wire rod (steel wire rod / SWR). This BMTP imposition by the Finance Minister Regulation (PMK) No. 155 / PMK.010 / 2015 concerning Imposition of Safeguard Measures (BMTP) that have been enacted on August 11, 2015.

Chairman of the Indonesian Trade Security (KKPPI) Ernawati revealed imposition BMTP on SWR done to protect domestic industry affected by the negative of the import surge.

This can be seen from the market share of domestic and industrial production declines, reduced production, and profits decreased to a loss.

PT. Lionmes Prima Tbk, Lawer Supendi at the AGM at JW Mariott on Wednesday (11/6), said that in 2013 the sales price declined slightly however, sales volumes have increased, so that the company managed to achieve a significant increase in net income.

Lawer predicted for 2014 despite the steel industry is expected to stagnate, but the company will still posted a positive increase, although welding is on the up-grade is being test-run stage. Next months expected to be able to enter the production phase, so although market is slowing, additional but this will increase production volume and total sales in 2014 to 5 percent said Lawer.

Facing Indonesia's dynamic economic situation and increased competition in the steel industry, the company implemented strategy best effort, develop a work program that quickly and take steps in anticipation of the dynamic development of the market, creating new opportunities in a challenging situation, improve efficiency and production capacity so that the company's performance can be improved.
