Antam Income Semester I Up 56 Percent Bisnis Indonesia, page B2, 2006-07-29
Up until the first semester of 2006, the income of PT Antam Tbk increased by 56 percent from Rp.1.314 trillion in 2005 to Rp.2.050 trillion as a result of an increase in sales volume and price. The company’s income in the second quarter of this year has increased 108 percent from Rp.715 billion in 2005 to Rp.1.487 trillion this year. In the fist semester of 2006, the nickel segment still had the highest contribution worth Rp.1.724 trillion, up 84 percent from the total Antam sales. Meanwhile, the gold segment contributed to 12 percent of the income worth Rp.237 billion.
The sales volume of ferronickel increased 175 percent despite the price that increased only 10 percent. Ferronickel production reached 4,153 tons, up 196 percent compared to the second quarter of 2005. in the second quarter of 2006, both FeNi I and FeNi II each produced 942 and 1,428 tons of ferronickel.
Antam Considering Financing Alternatives For Bauxite Project www.indoexchange.com/jsx/, 2004-02-12
PT Antam Tbk (ASX – ATM; JSX – ATM) announces today that it is considering several financing alternatives for the funding of the estimated US$220 million Tayan Chemical Grade Alumina project in Tayan, West Kalimantan. One of the alternatives is to raise funds through an Antam rights issue, which is subject to neccessary approvals. The company hopes to make a final decision by the end of this year. Antam is also currently making preparations to overhaul and upgrade its FENI II smelter, which will require the furnace to be shut down for a four to five month period later this year.
