PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) estimates that gold production by the end of 2022 can reach 1.6 million ounces (oz). This means that gold production in 2022 will increase by 23% compared to gold production in 2021 which was recorded at 1.3 million ounces. Meanwhile, PTFI's copper concentrate production in 2022 is estimated to reach 1.6 billion pounds, up 14% compared to copper production in 2021 which amounted to 1.4 billion pounds.

PTFI produces 190 thousand tons of copper ore per day and processes it to produce 1.6 billion pounds of copper concentrate. "190 thousand tons of (copper) ore per day are processed, and this year it can produce 1.6 billion pounds (pounds) of copper and 1.6 million ounces (ounces) of gold and it looks like it will be achieved," he told CNBC Indonesia in Mining Zone , quoted Tuesday (27/12/2022).
