Head of the Department of Fisheries and Marine Sumatra H Zonny Waldi SSos MM said, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries has issued Candy KP No. 1 in 2015 to limit the capture and trade of lobster, crab, and crab whose population has declined in Indonesia, including on the West Coast of Sumatra.

"Basic issuance of Regulation of the Minister of Marine and Fisheries No. 1/2015 because in some areas catches of the three commodities decreased in size, were arrested too much too young," said Zonny Waldi to SIB, Thursday (1/10).

He explained that, based on the Regulation of the Minister of Marine and Fisheries No. 1/2015, catching lobster (Panulirus sp) can be done with a carapace length of over 8 centimeters, crab (Scylla spp) with a carapace width size above 15 centimeters, and crab (Portunus pelagicus spp) with carapace width size above 10 centimeters. In addition these regulations also prohibit the capture of lobster, crab, and crab in spawning condition.

Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) through Fish Quarantine Center, Quality Control and Fishery Product Security (BKIPM) Jakarta I again thwart smuggling efforts of protected animals and invasive fish. As many as 150 pig turtle turtles, 42 turtles of red chest, 20 pomfret albino and 5 fish Black Snake Head which is planned to be sent to Pekanbaru was thwarted by officers at Terminal 1B Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Saturday (8/4) ) night.

Head of BKIPM Jakarta I, Sitti Chadidjah, said that the smuggling attempt was done in cooperation with Aviation Security (Avsec) and Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA). In addition to being included in the list of protected animals, it is also not eligible to pass on the animal. "Turtle pig snout is one of the protected species," said Sitti on Sunday (9/4).
