Sulfur resources in Indonesia are very few but inexhaustible, because sulfur is the result of alteration of rock with a source of heat from within the earth. Sulfur is used on a mixture of various cosmetic ingredients, medicines, bleach and more. One of the largest sulfur producing areas in Indonesia is Ijen Crater. According to statistics from the manager of Alas Purwo National Park, sulfur miner Ijen Crater mine at least 14 tons of sulfur every day. But the value is only 20% of the amount of sulfur distribution that is in Ijen Crater due to the difficult terrain and lack of facilities and infrastructure to maximize the potential.

Other sulfur producing areas exist in the area of West Java, precisely in Mount Patuha. In addition to being a tourist attraction and the results of plantation and agriculture, Bandung is also known as a geothermal tourist attraction. Putih Crater is located on Mount Patuha has been doing sulfur mining activity since the first.
