Foreigners Interested to Funeral Business in Indonesia: November 2015

Funeral business became one of the sectors that concern the government in drafting the revised investment guidelines or the negative investment list (DNI). Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Franky Sibarani, in the previous DNI, the funeral business in the category closed to foreigners. However, it turns out the business of providing these graves attract foreign investors.

More recently, BKPM receive interest investments worth USD 20 million or about Rp.270 billion. Land that had been prepared for the realization of these investments is 75 hectares. Therefore, it will discuss the certainty of this business line in a series of investment guides the discussion which was promptly done with ministries and technical agencies. Based on BKPM data, the realization of investments in January-September 2015 reached Rp400 trillion, up 16.7 percent from the same period the previous year amounting to Rp.342 trillion.
