Financial Services Authority (FSA) state venture capital (venture capital) foreigners have formed a joint venture (JV) with a local partner if it wants to run its business in Indonesia. It was an attempt by the FSA to regulate the flow of foreign funds into the country.

Chief Executive Supervisor nonbank financial industry (IKNB) FSA Firdaus Djaelani said currently there are a lot of foreign capital into the company to start up in Indonesia. Therefore, the FSA assesses these activities need to be made the rule. By controlling the flow of funds from foreign venture capital funds are expected to flow from the outside can be monitored. The move is also an attempt to avoid acts of money laundering (money laundry).

"Venture capital firms locally course we wear conditions, so that foreigners will also be made the rule. We will try to keep them to have local partners, so the form of joint venture (joint venture), "he said when met in Jakarta, Wednesday (30/12).

The development of the Islamic venture capital industry is said to still face a number of challenges. In its journey, the growth of the non-bank industry has been observed to be very slow and even tends to stagnate. This is reflected in the perpetrators who have not increased the number in the last two years. Until now, there are only six sharia venture capital actors, two of which are Sharia Business Units (UUS) and the other four are full sharia.

In addition, the slow growth of this industry is also reflected in the asset side. Based on data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) as of August 2021, this industry's assets were recorded at IDR 2.6 trillion or only grew four percent compared to the previous year.
