New regulations of OJK Strengthening Rural Banks,, 26 November 2014

Financial Services Authority (OJK) launched regulations (POJK) No 20 / POJK.03 / - 2014 of rural banks. The new beleid is believed to strengthen the competitiveness of rural banks in the era of an increasingly open market.

Joko Suyanto, Chairman of the Association of Rural Bank Indonesia (Perbarindo) said that increasing the amount of minimum capital for the establishment of an RB contained in the new OJK regulations will make the better resistance RB industry.
Islamic Rural Banks Industry are Ready to Digitalize: October 2017

Rural Banks and Islamic Rural Banks industry have now started to digitize. The move is done to become a tough industry in the face of the current digitalization era.

Digital transformation is considered a new way of doing business because of its potential to save costs. This transformation also not only digitized existing products, but change the mindset and solutions into digital according to the behavior and needs of society.

Chairman of Perbarindo (the Indonesian Association of Rural Banks) Joko Suyanto said, the performance of rural banks industry until July 2017 is still very good, rural banks industry assets reached Rp.118 trillion or grew 10.77% compared to last year's position, loans disbursed reached Rp.87 trillion or grew by 10.13%, savings grew by 13.33% and deposits grew by 10.30% compared to a year ago.
