The first Secretary of Trade and Investment Promotion Section Embassy of Poland Tomasz Pietka visit Balikpapan City Government on Friday (21/11). Tomasz Pietka presence was welcomed by the Head of Licensing Services Investment Board (BPMP2T) Ir. Nining Surtiningsih, Head of the Department of Industry, Trade and Cooperatives (Disperindagkop) Dra. Dortje Marpaung, Chief Medical Officer (DKK) Balikpapan drg. Dyah Muryani, and Head of Economic Setdakot Arzaedi Balikapan Rachman in Meeting Room II Balikpapan City Government Offices.

According to Tomasz Pietka division as the first secretary of the Embassy of Poland and trade promotion, the purpose of his visit to the city of Balikpapan is in the framework of cooperation and increase trade and investment between Poland and Balikpapan.

"After this meeting, I saw a lot of sectors other than coal which can be developed to conduct trade cooperation such as medical equipment, environmentally friendly engine technology and cosmetics," said Tomasz Pietka. He is very confident to cooperate with the City Government of Balikpapan especially with the construction of the General Hospital Balikpapan that would require health equipment.

"Next year we will be participating in the exhibition which will be held in London in June 2014, we Promotion Division will participate in the mining and coal," said Tomasz Pietka.

He explained that during the months of January to June 2015 the Polish Promotion Division will hold a special program which focuses on the mining sector and health equipment. According to him, the trade and investment opportunities between Poland and Indonesia greater especially after Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is currently serving as the President made a visit in 2013 ago and managed more than 10 MoU signed between the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce Chamber of Poland, as well as the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM ) and the Polish Information and Foreign Investment (PAlilZ).
