Rattan exports in 2013 are expected to increase due to demand from overseas.

In recent years, rattan exports have been at low levels, however, the value is expected to increase. An upward trend of exports in 2013 is possible for products from both rattan and also for wood. International demand could return to Indonesia because the stock of raw materials in Indonesia it is most prolific. Indonesia controls 80 percent of rattan raw materials in the world.

The Cirebon Regency Government held the Cirebon International Furniture Expo (Cifex) 2017 at Wisata Galmantro Village, Tegalwangi Village, Weru District, Cirebon Regency, West Java. Cirebon Regent, Sunjaya Purwadisastra said, Cifex 2017 is one of the government's efforts to promote and restore the glory of rattan production in Cirebon. Various types of original Cirebon rattan craft products are exhibited.

Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Furniture and Handicraft Industries (HIMKI), Sunoto said, as much as 80 percent of raw rattan raw materials in the world are in Indonesia. One way to be able to restore the glory of Indonesian rattan handicrafts is to stop the export of rattan raw materials.
