Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Darmin Nasution, invites small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to take floriculture or ornamental flower plants to the commercial level. The government believes that if it continues to be developed, then floriculture will be able to contribute significantly to national economic growth and floriculture market is still considered very open at domestic and abroad.

Currently the world's floriculture exports are still dominated by the Netherlands, Colombia, Equador, Ethiopia, Kenya and India. The government expects all provinces and districts or cities of floriculture centers such as Tomohon, to begin to focus on developing this commodity. So that one day this industry can play more role in world trade and of course for the acquisition of foreign exchange of state.
