The Covid-19 pandemic has inspired Architects and Environmental Planners to be creative in adapting to the layout of the building and its open green spaces. Landscape architects must be able to capture opportunities for changes in architectural concepts in accordance with the demands of environmental quality improvement.

The contribution of landscape experts is needed to deal with the phenomenon of living friendly with Covid-19, as discussed at the Online Seminar on GREEN ARCHITECTURE - inspiration & Adaptation. Chairman of IALI, Dian Heri Sofian, ST. MT, in his keynote speech, appreciated the seminar on the role of landscape architects in contributing to the needs of the community and their environment in the pandemic era by making green open spaces to have a healthy impact, adding new activity functions, in addition to the beauty aspect as a park.

In order to improve students' abilities in the field of architectural design, the Architecture Study Program in collaboration with the UIN Ar-Raniry Planning Bureau held a landscape redesign competition for the UIN Ar-Raniry campus. This activity is open to all students on the UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh campus.

Registration for this activity is open starting September 8 2022. In this competition there are three main spots that must be redesigned by the competition participants, namely the artificial lake area in the UIN Ar-Raniry Museum complex, the Fathun Qarib Mosque Landscape area and the football field area UIN Ar-Raniry.

For your information, the registration process starts on September 8 2022. The committee will collect works on November 22 2022 and the first stage of the judging process will be held on November 25 2022. Participants who pass the top 4 will make a presentation and stage II judging will also be held on the 30th. November 2022. Announcement of the winners of the UIN Ar-Raniry Campus Landscape Redesign Competition will be held on December 5 2022.
