Supporting Agency Water Supply System Development Ministry of Public Works said that of 341 Regional Water Company which include healthy category only 41% or about 142 companies. The rest, about 38% or 129 companies category less healthy and 70 companies or 21% entered as sick companies.

Company category less healthy income just to cover operating costs and debt settlement failure risk is very high. The company continues to suffer pain and loss of troubled debt restructuring program.

The Government will improve drinking water services for the community by offering a public private partnership projects (PPP). For that purpose, the Ministry of Public Works encourages 11 projects to clean water and sanitation which are public-private partnership to get a guarantee from PT. Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (Persero).

For projects worth less than Rp 500 billion would be guaranteed 100%, while above it penjaminannya only 25%.

Jakarta's clean water operator, PT. Aetra Air Jakarta, is investing Rp.300 billion to extend the company's piping by 232 kilometers to serve its consumers better. Presently, the company provides its service for 382,693 consumers.
