According to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Syarif Hidayat, the Ministry of Industry appreciates the investment industry components Air Conditioner (AC) by PT TD Automotive Compressor Indonesia (TACI) worth Rp1.15 trillion in MM2100 Industrial Estate Bekasi, West Java.

Syarif said that the automotive parts industry continues to grow in line with increased production and sales of vehicles in Indonesia. Government is very keen to encourage national automotive industry to boost the use of local components. Currently there are 1,500 automotive component company in Indonesia which is divided into Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3. The operation of the first plant of this TACI will make a significant contribution to the national economy as companies increase investment, employees, and increase the number of local component suppliers in the industrial production activities in the country. Syarif also asked TACI in order to continue to develop creativity and innovation through capacity building of local human resources to the maximum in production so that the product more competitive in the local and global markets.

In 2018 LG claims its product to be the most popular AC Inverter brand in Indonesia. They stated that they had reached 72.5% market share which increased significantly from 2017 at 26.8%. Dimas Raditya, Product Marketing Residential AC LG Electronics Indonesia explained that the increase in numbers based on AC Inverter product performance is far more energy efficient than the AC Standard so that the public likes it.

This year LG wants to focus on smart air conditioners that have Inverter technology and stop standard AC production per February in 2017. This year, AC Inverter's sales target is around 150 thousand units because last year it has successfully sold 100,000 units in the Indonesian market. And even though LG has stopped the production of ordinary air conditioners, after sales service until spare parts are still provided.
