The Story of a Leather Glove Entrepreneur Surviving a Pandemic : https://www.jamkridasulsel.co.id/info/kisah-pengusaha-sarung-tangan-kulit-bertahan-di-tengah-pandemi/29 September 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the business cycle. As a result, MSME actors have to rack their brains to overcome these problems. One of them is a leather glove manufacturer from Yogyakarta, Northy, which has increased its product marketing online after the closure of stores supplied by the Corona virus.

One of the owners of Northy, Ilham Setia Pradana, explained that at the beginning of the pandemic there had been a decline in turnover from hundreds of millions to tens of millions. However, it can gradually be overcome. "During this pandemic, it was clear that (sales) were going down. At the beginning of the pandemic, it was only tens of millions. But we try to sell online in various market places

"Because many shops in Jakarta are closed, so like it or not, you have to be fast (selling) online. Yes, there have been ups and downs, but at this point in terms of turnover, it's better than the beginning of the pandemic," added Ilham.
Yogyakarta Customs and Excise Serves Glove Exports Actively: https://www.antaranews.com/berita/3721662/bea-cukai-yogyakarta-layani-giat-ekspor-sarung-tangan/11 September 2023

The growth in performance of the Yogyakarta regional trade sector is currently showing significant development. This is proven by the increasing potential and export opportunities for superior commodities in Yogyakarta, one of which is textile commodities.

On September 6, 2023, PT Woneel Midas Leathers, located in Gunungkidul, exported 695 CT gloves with an export value of US$ 781,308 or Rp.11.92 billion. PT Woneel Midas Leathers is a company that receives bonded area facilities from Yogyakarta Customs and Excise. As a company receiving bonded zone facilities, export activities carried out by PT Woneel Midas Leathers are still directly supervised by Yogyakarta Customs and Excise employees.
