Millennial, Pepsi and Beverage Industry Consumption Patterns: https://fokus.tempo.co/read/1255447/pola- konsumsi-milenial-pepsi-dan-industri-minuman/full&view=ok/3 October 2019

Soft drinks, Pepsi, recently began to be difficult to find in the country. Because the brand from the United States began to get ready to leave Indonesia. A PepsiCo spokesman said it had terminated the production cooperation contract with PT Anugerah Indofood Barokah Makmur or AIBM in Indonesia. The two companies agreed to stop the production process as of October 10, 2019. Thus, beverage brands such as Pepsi, Mirinda, 7Up, and Mtn Dew will certainly not circulate again in Indonesia in the near future.

Marketing expert Yuswohady said that Pepsi's move to leave the country was not really surprising. The reason, he saw the trend of consumption of carbonated drinks had indeed begun to drop since a decade back. One of the driving factors, said Yuswohady, is the occurrence of consumer disruption, or what he calls millennial disruption. The generation born in the 1980s to the early 2000s did tend to reduce soda consumption.
