Until now, the supply of maize for animal feed industry raw materials in Indonesia is still minimal. As a result, Indonesia still has to import from the United States (U.S.), Brazil, and Argentina. In 2009 as much as 400 thousand tons and in 2010 as much as of 1.5 million tons.

Therefore, APPI ask the government to free maize import duty of 5% to 0% so that the producers lightened, and the selling price will be increasingly cheap.
