The cooking aid industry, such as soy sauce, chili sauce, tomato sauce and cooking spices, is one type that has a positive trade balance. In 2022 (January-September), exports of Indonesian cooking aid will reach US$175.8 million, while imports of similar products are valued at US$90.5 million.

Indonesia's main export products for cooking aid are dominated by cooking spices and soy sauce, while sauces and processed products still have a large import value. Currently, Indonesia is still in the 15th position for cooking aid exporting countries in the world.

The major manufacturers of spices and groceries Indonesia, PT Sasa Inti, works with companies of Saudi Arabia, Sami Alkhatiri Est, ready to build a factory in Saudi Arabia to meet market demand in the Middle East region.

Head of Indonesian Trade promotion Center (ITPC) Jeddah Gunawan said, after graduating from a series of tests conducted by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and seeing the potential of a large food and beverage market in Saudi Arabia, PT Sasa Inti is ready to build a factory in Saudi Arabia.

According to Trade Ministry data, as of August 2017, Indonesia's non-oil / non-gas exports to Saudi Arabia reached more than USD959 million, up 1.69% from the same period last year with transaction value reaching USD943 million. Especially for processed food commodities, until the period of August 2017, Indonesia managed to realize the export of food and beverage commodities with a value of more than USD106.42 million.
