Sulfur Producing Areas in Indonesia:http://www.majalahbatu.com/2016/11/daerah-penghasil-belerang-di-indonesia.html/9 November 2016
Sulfur resources in Indonesia are very few but inexhaustible, because sulfur is the result of alteration of rock with a source of heat from within the earth. Sulfur is used on a mixture of various cosmetic ingredients, medicines, bleach and more.
One of the largest sulfur producing areas in Indonesia is Ijen Crater. According to statistics from the manager of Alas Purwo National Park, sulfur miner Ijen Crater mine at least 14 tons of sulfur every day. But the value is only 20% of the amount of sulfur distribution that is in Ijen Crater due to the difficult terrain and lack of facilities and infrastructure to maximize the potential.
Other sulfur producing areas exist in the area of West Java, precisely in Mount Patuha. In addition to being a tourist attraction and the results of plantation and agriculture, Bandung is also known as a geothermal tourist attraction. Putih Crater is located on Mount Patuha has been doing sulfur mining activity since the first. However, as time goes by, sulfur mining activities are dwindling and sulfur mills are forced to close and leaving some sulfur miners from nearby residents to meet their daily needs.

PT Candi Ngrimbi is still having difficulty removing dozens of tons of sulfur stock in the Ijen Crater because the number of miners is decreasing. The lack of sulfur miners is not without reason. Some miners have switched professions because the incentives they receive are considered insufficient to meet their needs.
PT Candi Ngrimbi Coordinator Bambang Heri Purwanto said that currently there are only an estimated 10 or almost 20 workers who usually transport sulfur from the crater to the storage area in Paltuding.
