PT. International Nickel Indonesia (INCO) plans to increase nickel production to 90 thousand metric tons per year in 2014-2015, the achievement of the current 73 thousand metric tons. To increase production the company will open a new mine sites and maximize employment burning stove (furnace) in Sorowako by the end of 2011.

Throughout this year the company budgeted capital expenditure of $ 232 million. INCO prepared A total of $ 100 million to increase production to 90 thousand metric tons per year. $ 100 million will be used for completion of the project Karebbe, and $ 132 million to increase production capacity.
Antam Pomalaa Ready to Export Nickel Ore to Europe:, 26 March 2010

PT. Aneka Tambang (Antam) Pomalaa, Southeast Sulawesi, plans to export 2,000 tons of nickel ore (which have been processed at Feronikal III Factory) to Europe. The decision was taken following improvement in world nickel prices. Presently, nickel is worth Rp.200,000 per kilogram.
