Indonesia is the largest tin producer in the world's first mining activity. Indonesia accounts for one third of global tin per year. Most of this lead comes from Bangka Belitung Kepuluan. The government will soon organize miners in Bangka Belitung people who planned to become a partner for PT. Timah (Persero) Tbk.
Director General of Mineral and Coal, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Ariyono Bambang Gatot said the arrangement will be done thoroughly, including the equipment used by the artisanal miners.
"We will immediately establish and standardize the arrangement of his tools," he said in Jakarta. According to Bambang, the artisanal miners will be encouraged to forge partnerships with PT. Timah. However, it will not necessarily be granted licenses artisanal mining business license (IUPR).
ESDM will coordinate first with PT Timah to talk about it. Afterwards, the discussion will be continued with the involvement of artisanal miners.
