Krakatau Steel was targeting Iron Ore Mine Content of 50 Million Tonnes: October 2010

PT. Krakatau Steel (Persero), issuer of the shares will be listed first on 10 November 2010, was eyeing Mining Concession (KP) in Aceh with the iron ore content of 50 million tons. The Company is conducting in order to increase ownership of the deepening of this KP. Later dimungkikan mining sites adjacent or separated by large distances

KP has been supplying iron ore in Kalimantan, does not belong to the company. KS only manage the mine with a long-term contract system.

The government has signed another contract with PT. Jogja Magasa Iron in regards to the iron sand mining in Kulonprogo, the first to be established in Java. The contract was signed by Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Purnomo Yusgiantoro. Jogja Magasa Iron promised an investment valued at US$ 1.7 billion, structured as US$ 600 million for mining investment and US$ 1.1 billion for infrastructure development. In addition, the company will also allocate US$ 20 million as state income.
