President Director of PT PLN (Persero) express one of the prolem that make slow utilization of geothermal energy is because private geothermal developers are still dependent on the total contract value of PLN. Therefore, he asked the governments for private geothermal developers are given incentives in the conduct exploration activities.
other problems that make PLN seems slow sign a contract, because private developers need to create certainty about the development of geothermal field that requires a period of seven years. Other reason that make the auction Mining Work Area (WKP) is hampered because developers need local government's decision who do WKP auction, so that PLN geothermal can not sign a contract.
Which allows for PLN in the utilization of geothermal energy is in cooperation with PT. Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE). Dahlan reasoned, PGE is a state-owned enterprise, so the incentive to fund the acquisition of PGE would be easier.
