Every year the Japanese market requires edamame supply at least 100 thousand tons. Of this amount, approximately 70 thousand tons are supplied from a number of countries such as China, Taiwan, and Thailand. Currently, PT Mitratani have imported seedlings every three months as much as 20 tons or 60% of the requirement, while 40% was met from seedlings derived from seeds from Taiwan.
