JECC Profit Exceeds Target Due to Sluggish Copper Prices: https://www.jengpatrol.com/bisnis/laba-jecc-lampaui-target-berkat-lesunya-harga-tembaga/5 October 2016
PT Jembo Cable Company Tbk (JECC) booked a net profit for the first half / 2016 Rp.82, 24 billion, exceeding the target for this year of Rp.71, 34 billion. This is due to the drop in the price of copper is used as a raw material cable maker.

Director and Corporate Secretary of JECC Anthony Benady said, sluggish price of copper has been helping companies since last year. This is evident from the increase in sales of Rp.789 billion to Rp.1.2 trillion by the end of 2015. The average price of copper for the first half of this year amounted to Rp.69.523 / kg. The figure decreased to 16% from last year which amounted to Rp.82.573 / kg. In addition, the raw material for making other cables that aluminum also decreased by 14%, last year the average Rp.27.942 / kg. Average per June this year Rp.24.094 / kg. So the company gain more efficiency in the cost of production other than copper.
Cable Industry Optimistic Face the ASEAN Free Trade : http://www.tempo.co/read/news/2013/07/29/090500681/Industri-Kabel-Optimistis-Hadapi-Pasar-Bebas-ASEAN/ 29 July 2013
As preparations for the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015 , Vice Minister of Commerce visited the factory wiring Krisnamurthi PT Supreme Cable Manufacturing Commerce ( Sucaco ) Tbk . Cables and electronic equipment is one sector which is set by default in the free trade in Southeast Asia .

" It turns out we are ready to face competition because the firm turned out to be one of the best in ASEAN , " said Bayu Sucaco factory in Daan , West Jakarta , Monday, July 29, 2013 . Factory covering an area of ??14 haktare was already 41 years old and is one of cable plant oldest in Indonesia .

According to Bayu , PT Sucaco been exporting its products to Japan and other countries in the Middle East are taking a higher standard of ASEAN . However, it exports all its products are now stalled because the domestic market absorbed .

As the economy grows , the need for cables and equipment in the country is growing. This additional requirement apparently was overtaken by the domestic industry that the culprit is not more than 100 companies .

As a result , the trade balance was a deficit Indonesian electronic products . Last year , for example , the Central Bureau of Statistics noted that the export cable and electronic products only reached U.S. $ 7 billion, while imports reached U.S. $ 15 billion .

Jamallulail Noval , Chairman of Cable Manufacturers Association ( Apkabel ) stated that the main obstacle in the cable industry is the problem of raw materials . Although Indonesia is producing copper and aluminum , but in fact the cable industry still has to import both these metals . " Because here there is no industry median , so it must be processed out first , " he said .

Another problem , imports of semi-finished raw materials it turns subject to import duties of 10-15 percent . " It's somewhat reduces our competitiveness for the export market, " said Noval.
