Karlie Hanafi: Change Gas with Briquettes: http://kalsel.prokal.co/read/news/12649-karlie-hanafi-ganti-gas-dengan-briket.html/7 December 2017
Community dependence on LPG for household needs, small and medium-sized businesses have been difficult to remove, especially LPG, which is 3 kg in size or marketed in the community at subsidized prices. But the availability of gas is actually difficult to obtain and the price is far above the highest retail price.

The government has already considered the steps that will be taken to overcome this problem. One of them is by inviting people to switch to using other energy as a substitute fuel, such as briquettes. This was conveyed by Member of Commission II, Karlie Hanafi. The advantages of coal briquettes compared to other fuels are cheap and economical, high and stable heat is very suitable for long burning, odorless and smoky, there is no risk of exploding and not making noise.
APBI: Coal Briquette Reduce Energy Subsidies : http://www.republika.co.id/berita/ekonomi/makro/15/10/15/nw9cvc383-apbi-briket-batu-bara-kurangi-subsidi-energi/15 October 2015
Indonesian Coal Mining Association (APBI) said coal briquettes potential to reduce subsidized fuel oil (BBM) and LPG because the price is more economical and can be found in the country.

"Now it is faced with a subsidy. It used kerosene, now LPG. According to me, the island nation like ours is difficult when relying on gas, must be compressed, liquefied petroleum gas is also imported. The briquettes we have," said Executive Director Supriatna Suhala in a seminar in Jakarta Thursday (15/10).

He explained that the production of low rank coal (low rank) as the base material so abundant coal briquettes in Indonesia so that the government does not need to import raw materials such energy. "The market share in the form of small and medium industries and rural communities are using briquettes are still very large," he said.
