Contribution of PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) related to the production of copper and gold Freeport-McMoRan Inc. increased in the period January-September 2015 compared with the contribution of production in the same period last year, increasing from 465 million pounds to 551 million pounds. Total production of all the Freeport mine has decreased from 2.91 billion pounds in the third quarter last year to 2.89 billion pounds this year. That is, the percentage of copper production at the mine PT Freeport Indonesia in Papua reached 19.03%, higher than the previous contribution of 16%. For the sale of copper, PTFI contributions during January-September 2015 as much as 549,000 pounds or reached 18,77% of total sales of Freeport as much as 2.93 billion pounds.

More significant increase recorded for the gold commodity. As of 30 September 2015, the resulting gold mine in Indonesia reached 887,000 troy ounces (t oz), an increase of gold production in the same period last year of 776,000 t oz. Freeport's overall gold production in this period rose from 846,000 t oz be 907,000 t oz. That is, the contribution of gold from the Freeport mine in Papua throughout the nine months of this year reached 97.79%, an increase of 6.06% compared with the contribution in the same period last year by 91.73%. In terms of sales, PT Freeport Indonesia reached 891,000 t oz per 30 September 2015 or reached 98.02% of the total sales of Freeport as much as 909,000 t oz.

PT. Newmont Nusa Tenggara expressed his Batu Hijau mine will soon be in operation following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the government.

President of Newmont Martiono Hadianto said the MoU allows the company to obtain an export permit copper concentrate.

"I want to give thanks Thank God and thank you to all the parties, the Batu Hijau mine will soon be resumed," he said, Thursday (04/09/2014).

Martiono said after concentrates export license is obtained, the company will call employees and contractors to go back to work and restart mining operations at Batu Hijau copper and gold in a safe and timely manner.

He continues, it expects the Batu Hijau mine will resume exports of copper concentrate and operate normally in September.
