Request to Jokowi to Protect Domestic Tobacco Industry : http://www.kamarberita.com/read/jokowi-diminta-lindungi-industri-tembakau-dalam-negeri-jpnn-com, 2 June 2015
The administration of President Joko Widodo has not been in favor of the national clove industry. The proof, double taxation and high taxes on tobacco industry targeting of clove industry is considered extremely burdensome. In fact, tobacco is currently a small industrial base that can build the economy in these areas.

Neta S Pane, one of the characters who sued the implementation of the Act No. 28 of 2009 on Regional Taxes and Levies (PDRD) recalls that the application of double taxation in the Act PDRD against the tobacco industry, also is not very precise because the tobacco was not categories of luxury goods. The effect of the policy was of course the people harmed by having to pay taxes twice, so the of clove industry in the region will be further eroded, and finally outside cigarette free entry.
