Among sugarcane farmers urged the government to take measures related to low yield value that causes this commodity difficult to compete.

Chairman of the Indonesian Sugar Cane Farmers Association Sumitro Soemadikoen said sugar factories in Indonesia is dominated by the old mill, which became the cause of the yield of sugarcane in the country.

"The key word only improve yield, and the plant should be good. So the government should renew the plant and improved management," he said when contacted by Business, (23/9).

He said if the government did not renew the plant, the private sector should be allowed entrance to rejuvenate the plant. "With record-based private plant cane," he said.

The Aceh Tengah Regency Government continues to have an interest in improving the infrastructure of sugar cane production center in Ketol District. In 2017 it has budgeted for road infrastructure development in the region of Rp15.5 billion. Thus disclosed Regent of Aceh Tengah, Nasaruddin.

Road infrastructure is needed to streamline the production and processing of sugarcane raw materials to be utilized by sugar mills. According to the regent, the magnitude of sugar cane potential in Gayo high-density area will invite investor interest to invest in establishing a sugar factory, including the latter of which is the interest to invest as shown by Humpuss Group.
