Indonesia's plastic and rubber industry has great potential to be developed as an important industry with upstream to downstream scope as it becomes a supporter of other related industries. The Ministry of Industry noted that the number of plastic industries to date reaches 925 companies producing various plastic products, absorb the workforce of 37,327 people has a total production of 4.68 million tons.

Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Food and Beverage Entrepreneurs (GAPMMI), Andhi S, Lukman said, plastic is still one of the favorites in the processed food industry, because it is elastic, easily shaped, strong and affordable. Packaging is not the main thing in the processed food industry, but has an important role in getting the consumer's heart in determining the choice, which can maintain the durability and hygiene of the products sold, as well as storage and distribution functions.

Plastics and rubber industry in Indonesia has grown to serve diversified industries based growing. Despite global economic challenges, the Indonesian economy is predicted to grow 6.4% in 2012. These figures portray Indonesia as a promising and attractive market for the plastics and rubber processing industry, which has contributed to the continued growth of both domestic and export sectors.

Similarly, the manufacturing sector both contract and subcontract processing in Indonesia to access the latest plastics and rubber, packaging and precision engineering technologies available in the global market.
