Director of Industrial Machinery and Equipment Agricultural Machinery Ministry of Industry, Arus Gunawan said machine tool industry role to support domestic agricultural food sovereignty program. Because mechanization aims to improve the productivity of agricultural activities efficiently. Agricultural machinery equipment demand continues to grow every year so that the government provide assistance as much as 83,000 tools agricultural machinery to farmers' groups and the communities in fiscal year 2016.

Some of tools agricultural machinery that has been able to be produced of domestic industries, such as sluice gates, water pumps, hand tractors, earth moving machines, thresher or harvesting, spraying crops, spraying pressurized, atomizer carrying motor (mist blower), dryers, threshers multipurpose, paring grain, sieve (shifter), rice polisher, bleach, straw shredder, lawn mowers, as well as rice processing unit.

Strengthening the food sector is one of the Government's main priorities in maintaining national economic stability, especially to deal with the threat of climate change and global geopolitical dynamics which have an impact on the current food crisis, energy crisis, and financial crisis. The government also consistently seeks to improve food security by encouraging the productivity of agricultural products through the mechanism of modernizing agricultural equipment and machinery taxis (Alsintan).

In order to support the mechanism for providing adequate Alsintan, the Government continues to encourage increased financing facilities for farmers through the People's Business Credit (KUR). This was stated by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto when chairing a Limited Coordination Meeting with Banking to discuss Distribution of Business Credit for Taxis for Agricultural Equipment and Machinery, Tuesday (18/10).

"Efforts that can push in this direction are one of them through increasing financing in the agricultural sector, especially taxi tools and agricultural machinery through the People's Business Credit program," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
