Industry News
The Automotive Components Industry Begins to revive after the Pandemic: https://www.gaikindo.or.id/industri-komponen-otomotif-mulai-bangkit-setelah-pandemi//1 November 2022
The automotive component industry is one of the sectors affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Even so, towards the end of 2022, the performance of the component industry is starting to improve.

Kusharijono (Director of PT Astra Otoparts) said that initially component production would still run normally in 2019 to 2020. "But starting in the second quarter of 2020 the pandemic started, we practically couldn't sell and produce," said Kusharijono, in the webinar The Indonesia 2023 Summit: Rebuild the Economy, as quoted by KOMPAS on Tuesday 1 November 2022.

"Then, we will start production in the third quarter of 2020, which will help us with the IOMKI (Operational Permit and Industrial Activity Mobility). And production is starting to increase, until 2022," he said.

The automotive sector was also affected by the Corona Covid-19 pandemic. Not only automotive manufacturers, but also Tegal's small and medium industry (IKM) is also feeling the impact of the pandemic. The turnover of metal component suppliers from Tegal's small and medium industry (IKM) for the automotive industry fell by 90 percent. The reason is because the vehicle brand holder agents (APM) have temporarily stopped their production due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ministry of Industry is involved in maintaining the business continuity of IKM players. The Ministry of Industry continues to explore existing market opportunities. One of the efforts to bridge IKM in the Tegal metal center in exploring new markets in the automotive industry sector is by holding a link and match program between IKM and large companies.
