Partnerships and the formation of corporations are important in the synergy between goat and sheep farmers, so that it will be able to encourage an increase in the role and contribution of goat and sheep commodities to meet animal protein needs and increase competitiveness.

Director General of Animal Husbandry and Animal Health of the Ministry of Agriculture I Ketut Diarmita said that meeting the needs of sheep and goat meat products at this time could be met from their own regions and tend to have a surplus in each region. However, consumption of lamb and goat meat is relatively small and tends to decrease. This is an opportunity for the development of sheep and goats in the future as an export opportunity.

The government is encouraging the development of dairy goats in order to hoist the national milk production. Dairy goat raising is considered more convenient and faster yield.
