Tanning industry association hopes to grow 10% -20% next year, with the trend shoe factories relocating to Indonesia and the supply of raw materials is greater.

Chairman of the Association of Tannery Indonesia, Haryono Sutanto said that the relocation of factories of shoes from China will have an impact on increasing the uptake of production of the tanning industry. In 2016, the government would import of live cattle. This will increase the availability of raw materials for industrial raw skin. Over the past five years, the raw material is lacking. Local covers only 40% -50% of the requirement. The rest must import requirements are quite difficult. So with no supply of live animals, will increase the supply of raw materials skin.

Magetan residents, East Java will get good news after the Indonesian Leather tanning Association (APKI) DPD Magetan held an audience with the Regent of Magetan, Wednesday (10/10/2018). Magetan Regent, Suprawoto said that the tanner industry always causes problems, especially waste and bad odors. Therefore, to overcome waste and bad odors, APKI Magetan said that there would be investors who were ready to build new areas for leather tanning because the existing area in the village of Ringin Anom is no longer good.

So far, investors have planned financing and development schemes for the new leather tanning industry. In this case the Magetan regency government will help to what extent the ability of investors to realize the new area. The Chairperson of DPD APKI Magetan, Basuki Rachmawan hopes that the Magetan regency government will give full support to the future of the leather tanning industry in Magetan.
