PT Argha Karya Prima Industry (APKI), a flexible packaging industry company, is preparing a capital expenditure budget of Rp 30 billion for next year. Corporate Secretary of PT Argha Karya Prima Industry, Tjoe Mun Lie said that this capital expenditure will be used to maintain production equipment.

In May 2018, there was a fire that consumed the BOPP (Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene) production machine 2, machine 3 and machine 4. Production machine 4 can resume operations in August 2018. Machine 2 and machine 3 cannot be used anymore because it is badly damaged. The company is currently taking care of insurance claims to Mash Indonesia for damage to machines 2 and machines 3. The two production machines contributed around 10% or 10,000 tons of production per year. The APKI factory in Citeureup, Bogor has a capacity of 100,000 tons of plastic packaging per year.

Indonesia's Plastic and Rubber Industry has great potential to be developed as an important industry with upstream to downstream scope, since the industry is supporting the progress of other related industries.

The Ministry of Industry noted that the number of plastic industries to date reaches 925 companies producing various plastic products. This sector absorbs a workforce of 37,327 people and has a total production of 4.68 million tons. Even the plastic packaging industry which is a downstream chemical sector is very high growth and has great potential.
