Reducing Import of Wheat, Instant Noodles Will Use Sago Flour: https://www.cnbcindonesia.com/news/20181119093827-4-42736/kurangi-impor-gandum-mie-instan-akan-gunakan-tepung-sagu/19 November 2018
The Ministry of Agriculture will reduce dependence on food imports through the Local Food Industry Development (PIPL) program. One of the imports to be reduced is wheat, where all of the commodity's needs are currently met from imports.

Head of the Food Security Agency (BKP), Agung Hendriadi, said that the effort to reduce the import of wheat was by mixing 10% sago flour into instant noodles. Mixing sago flour will not change the taste and texture of instant noodles. Therefore, BKP seeks to increase the productivity of local food crops as raw material for flour, such as mocaf flour, which is made from raw cassava. Lampung as a producer of cassava with high productivity of up to 50 tons per hectare.
Instant Noodle Growth Stagnant, Mie Sedaap Remains Sure of Double Digit Growth: https://industri.kontan.co.id/news/pertumbuhan-mie-instan-stagnan-mie-sedaap-tetap-yakin-tumbuh-dua-digit/3 September 2023
Mie Sedaap's sales in 2023 are targeted to grow double digits. Moreover, there is a new product with a spicy variant which is considered to further encourage demand. Jimmy, Senior Brand Manager of Mie Sedaap, said that in 2023 the growth of instant noodles is considered stagnant. However, Mie Sedaap believes it can record double digit growth by the end of the year.

This is supported by one of its new products, namely the screaming chicken flavor. Jimmy said, based on Nielsen data, instant noodles with spicy variants dominate 14.4% of total instant noodle consumption in Indonesia in 2023. This value, compared to 2022, has grown by 6.7%. It can be said that Indonesian people are more interested in this spicy instant noodle product. So this spicy food trend will still grow in the future
