Local Fruit and Vegetable packaging Must be Corrected : http://nasional.republika.co.id/berita/nasional/politik/14/11/01/nebuvy-amran-sayur-dan-buah-lokal-harus-diperbaiki-kemasannya/1 November 2014
Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman wants national agricultural products, especially vegetables and fruit packaged better. That is to improve the quality of agricultural products which will affect the value of the price.

"We need to packaging, I see the packaging is not maximized," said Amran told reporters during blusukan with Rahmat Gobel Minister of Trade and Cooperatives Minister AAGN Puspayoga, Kramat Jati Market, early on Saturday (1/10).

Amran said, if the packaging of agricultural products performed well, he believes the quality of national agricultural products increased. Not only that, he said, the value of selling prices and sales will increase.

"There we are trying grapefruit, sweet remarkable. If this is a well dressed packaging, the price could be higher," said Amran respond fruit sold in markets Kramat Jati.

According Amran, the price of vegetables and fruit in Kramat Jati Market relative stable, if in some markets the price of vegetables and fruit rose, Amran said, it's a distinct advantage for farmers. Therefore, farmers are expected to grow again asked to move fast in order to increase productivity.

When blusukan, Amran tell, three ministries will continue to coordinate to issue policies in tune. "So this may take a decision, because it threes (Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry of Cooperatives) down," said Amran after blusukan in the center of the vegetables.
Fruit Import Exceeds Local Fruit Exports: https://manado.tribunnews.com/2018/10/22/nilai-impor-buah-melewati-ekspor-buah-lokal?page=3,/22 October 2018
Government efforts to reduce fruit imports have not been successful. The value of Indonesian fruit imports until the third quarter of 2018 recorded a significant increase. While in the same period, fruit exports from Indonesia actually declined. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the value of fruit imports from January to September 2018 was US$ 908.5 million, up 11.5% compared to the same period in 2017 which was US$ 814.8 million. Meanwhile, the value of fruit exports actually dropped to around US$ 587.1 million, down 10.27% compared to the same period in 2017 which amounted to US$ 654.36 million.

The Chairperson of the Indonesian Vegetable and Fruit Exporters Association (AESBI) Hasan Johnny Widjaja said that the increase in fruit imports occurred because Indonesian people preferred imported fruits rather than local fruits because the development of imported fruit varieties was higher than domestic fruit products. The potential of local fruit is large, but it is not developed in the concept of integrated areas so that its production and exports cannot increase significantly. Without integrated area development, Indonesia's fruit harvest tends to be unstable and does not change much from year to year.
