Shrimp Commodities Can Increase Indonesian Fisheries Exports: https://www.republika.co.id/berita/ekonomi/korporasi/18/12/16/pjta1w383-komoditas-udang-bisa-dongkrak-ekspor-perikanan-indonesia/16 December 2018
The Indonesian government through the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) continues to strive to increase Indonesian fisheries exports. This is done to achieve the export target of Indonesian fisheries products in 2018 which is set to reach US $ 5 billion. Director General of Strengthening Maritime and Fishery Product Competitiveness (PDSPKP) of KKP, Rifky Effendi Hardijanto said that six fishery commodities are expected to be able to spur the value of Indonesian fishery exports, namely shrimp, tuna, crab, rajungan, octopus, seaweed, skipjack and tongkol.

Shrimp is considered as the main export of Indonesian fishery products because in the period January-October 2018 only, the value of shrimp exports has reached 1.5 billion dollars. The main market for Indonesian shrimp is the east coast of America, while the west coast of America is still dominated by suppliers from India. Likewise with the European market which cannot be optimized for marketing of Indonesian fishery products. In general, the needs of world shrimp cannot be fulfilled by existing suppliers, so this is an opportunity for Indonesia to optimize the marketing of the results of Indonesian shrimp farming or cultivation, namely by optimizing the use of technology in capturing or cultivating and empowering of Indonesian fisheries experts. If Indonesia can add an export value of US $ 1 billion in the next 3 years, this will help improve Indonesia's trade balance.
Measured Capture Keeps Ecological and Economic Balance: https://www.republika.co.id/berita/r1a6y2370/penangkapan-terukur-jaga-keseimbangan-ekologi-dan-ekonomi/20 October 2021
Abundant fishery resources should not make Indonesia complacent. The decline in fishery resources continues to occur due to high levels of capture and demand. The government, in this case the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), must work extra hard in maintaining fishery resources for years to come.

Through the principle of the blue economy or blue economy as a basic instrument in marine spatial planning, including scalable fishing, the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono wants to maintain Indonesia's position as a major supplier of fish in the world market. For Trenggono, a measured fishing policy can ensure a balance between ecological and economic growth and the sustainability of national fishery resources.
