Petrokimia Gresik Invests Rp.1.4 Trillion

PT Petrokimia Gresik plans to expand by building three new factories, a phosphate acid factory with a capacity of 120,000 tons, acid sulphate factory with a capacity of 400,000 tons, and a diammonium phosphate factory with a capacity of 100,000 tons to produce NPK. The investment value of the three factories is around Rp.1.4 trillion. At the present, Petrokimia produces 460,000 tons of NPK per year.
Fertilizer Producers Try to Fulfil Government Target

Despite unfavorable economic performance, national fertilizer producers commit to fulfil government target. To prevent shortage in the country, especially in Java and flooded food producing centers, producers manifested double stock as regulated by the Minister of Agriculture. Although such steps mean that producers may have to raise larger work capital, these producers are continuing their plan. Producers have been able to provide fertilizers for planting season 2004/2005 by putting the plan in action. Stocks in line II and III for December 2004 exceeded demand. For that period of time, stock in line II and III reached 470,910 tons, or an 193% of the 243,380 quota. In the factory, the stock reached 199,044 tons.
