National Heavy Equipment Industry Starts Rising : https://www.antaranews.com/berita/670850/industri-alat-berat-nasional-mulai-bangkit/13 December 2017

Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto said, the performance of heavy equipment industry this year began to show signs of improvement, which is evident from the 2017 production report that shows an upward trend.

Data from the Indonesian Heavy Equipment Association (Hinabi) shows, production of heavy equipment in the first quarter of this year was recorded at 1,153 units or an increase of 87 percent compared to the same period last year with 619 units of production. In the second quarter, the national heavy equipment industry recorded sales of 2,467 units and is predicted to reach 4,400 units by the end of 2017.

Needs according to estimates will continue to increase in line with increased infrastructure development and processing activities of mining commodities, plantations and forestry.

The goose of heavy equipment sales market declined because of the era of soaring mining commodity prices is no longer the case. As a result, this condition also makes the heavy equipment players in the country must be enough to bite the fingers. This is felt by PT United Tractors Tbk (UNTR) which is as distributor of heavy equipment with the brand Komatsu.

Director of Finance & Accounting UNTR Iwan Hadiantoro said that no longer the price of mining commodities made the situation difficult for heavy equipment suppliers. The reason, inevitably must be able to transfer sales to enter the other sectors of construction.
