The existence of Indonesian plywood began shifting by plywood from Malaysia. Japan as importer of Indonesian plywood are now beginning to move on to the plywood made in Malaysia.

Head of Human Resources Ministry of Forestry Tachrir Fathoni revealed Indonesia is the largest supplier of plywood to Japan, reaching 90 percent. But now, the Japanese prefer to take the plywood from Malaysia, so that plywood imports from Indonesia dropped to about 40 percent. The existence of illegal logging has led to the inhibition of the forestry industry in the country. As a result of legal wood raw material for the wood industry in the country to be reduced.
