Committee II DPD RI assess the handling and management of waste can be done through cooperation between the central government and local governments as both have an important role in waste management, especially in building public awareness in waste management.

Vice Chairman of Committee II I Kadek Arimbawa argues, private involvement in waste management should be considered by the government. The private sector can contribute to waste management in the regions through CSR funds.

Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta will gradually create a mandatory commercial area to manage waste. In view of the Provincial Regulation of DKI Jakarta Number 3 of 2013 on Waste Management, it shall be ordered.

Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama said the regulation aims to encourage private parties to build their own waste processing. Because if they continue to rely on Jakarta Provincial Government, they will be burdened with postage, levy and tipping fee.
