Ceramics industry growth this year certainly will not be as good as last year. This year, the industry is targeting growth only about 8%.
Chairman of the Indonesian Ceramic Association (Asaki) Elisa Sinaga said the slowdown in the ceramic industry this year due to the weak property market. When in 2013 the growth could reach 15%, this year is not expected to reach 10%, or about 8% only.
"Yes, because the property is weakened so demand also slowed; in essence, still growing but slowing, "said Elisa, Thursday (29/05/2014).
Despite slowing growth, the ceramic industry is ready to face the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015 along with the implementation of the standardization of ceramic products are sold in Indonesia. Currently, the industry is ready with the application of standardization ceramic products with labeling Indonesian National Standard (SNI). "Like it or not we have to be ready. Ceramic industry has been improving the quality of products to compete with the outside. "
Stagnant Ceramic Industry, This is the Cause: https://bisnis.tempo.co/read/874491/industri-keramik-stagnan-ini-sebabnya/17 May 2017
The performance of the national ceramics industry stagnated in the first quarter of 2017 with utilization falling dramatically since 2016. In addition to purchasing power, the ceramics industry declined due to the large number of cheap imported products from China.
Chairman of the Association of Ceramic Indonesia (Asaki) Elisa Sinaga said that the weakening of the industry is still ongoing. The association noted, in 2016, the volume of industrial production fell by 20 percent. Utilization of the national ceramics factory is still in the range of 60-65 percent of the total production capacity of 580 million square meters. The utilization rate dropped dramatically after 2015 reached 80 percent.
The main factor affecting the national ceramics sales is the growth of the property sector. The slowing growth of the sector in the first quarter of 2017 had a significant impact on the sales of ceramic products.
